Corporate History

Formative Years  (Dec. 16, 1994 – 1999)

Colorsteel Systems Corporation was founded on December 16, 1994 as a trading company of prepainted longspan steel roofing and roof engineering services. It started its commercial operations in January 1995 with its base located in Makati City.

To compensate its very limited financial resources, the founders used their expertise and skills in the roofing industry to hire, train, and develop young professionals into competent sales and installation engineers equipped with knowledge and skills as potent weapons to stay at par or better with the competition.

In anticipation of the vast growth in Central Luzon, Colorsteel established its first sales branch in San Fernando Pampanga on June 19, 1995.

In March 1996, the corporation entered into a joint venture with a group of Filipino-Chinese businessmen and founded Philcolors Steel Forming Corporation. Colorsteel then became its no. 1 dealer in Luzon in terms of volume.

The exceptional growth of the organization was however slowed down by the Asian economic crisis in 1997 to 1998. Colorsteel regained its momentum in 1999 when the construction industry showed signs of relief and recovery. To build a reputable presence in Northern Luzon, it established a sales branch in San Fernando La Union. It was also in the same period where Colorsteel severed its ties with Philcolors due to differences in management style and direction to take.

Strengthening the Foundation (2000-2004)

To solidify its presence in the roofing industry, Colorsteel implemented its strategic plan to enter into rollforming operations of its own. It established its rollforming plant in San Fernando Pampanga in March 2000.

Additional sales branches were then set up in Dagupan, Cabanatuan, Lipa, Tarlac, Bulacan and Santiago Isabela to generate bigger volume of sales. Several rollforming machines of intelligently-developed designs for roofing and steeldecking products were acquired within the period.

To highlight its 10th year founding anniversary on December 16, 2004, Colorsteel inaugurated the “Colorsteel Home” – a modern and bigger rollforming facility and administration office in Del Rosario, San Fernando Pampanga.

Expansion and Diversification (2005 – 2009)

Inspired by its accomplishments for the past 10 years, Colorsteel embarked in expanding its coverage. It established warehousing operations in Lipa, Iloilo, Davao, and La Union as well as sales offices in Urdaneta City and Cavite.

It was also on November 18, 2006 when Philippine SteelFraming Corporation was organized as an affiliate company to focus in the fabrication of quality and guaranteed galvanized framing systems.

It was in 2008 when Colorsteel started its rollforming operations in Iloilo to further improve its presence in Panay and Negros areas.
In line with its strategy to continuously improve the quality, affordability and availability of its raw materials, Colorsteel began to establish its business relations with worldclass foreign suppliers of prepainted and galvanized coils. During the end of this period, Colorsteel is almost 100% importing its raw materials.
In its 15th year, Colorsteel’s presence already spanned from Luzon to Mindanao. It also complemented its roofing products with galvanized framing systems, thus the 15th year theme “Complete Roof and Beyond”.

Enhancing Competitiveness (2010 – 2014)

To be more competitive in Central and Southern Mindanao areas, Colorsteel established its rollforming operations in Davao City in 2010.  A sales branch was likewise put up in General Santos City.

It was also in 2011 when the Cavite rollforming facility was initiated to improve the delivery services of Colorsteel products in the Southern part of Luzon and some parts of Metro Manila.

In May 2012, Colorsteel inaugurated its “Colorsteel Iloilo Home” – a modern and bigger rollforming facility in Pavia, Iloilo to better serve its customers in the area as well as its branches in Bacolod and Roxas.

On October 08, 2013, Colorsteel Cebu Rollforming Plant was officially opened with complete product lines. It will likewise serve as the company’s hub for its raw materials for Visayas and Mindanao operations. Bohol and Tacloban sales offices were subsequently established.

Colorsteel now operates 27 sales branches and 5 rollforming plants nationwide as it pursues its vision of bringing its products to the entire Philippines.

As it continuously grows as a professional organization and as a major player in the industry, Colorsteel further enhances its five pillars: Integrity on Quality, Responsive Customer Care, Engineering Competence, Intelligent Design, and Nationwide Presence. In its 20th year, the deeper challenge of establishing itself as “The Steel Institution” continues along with the task of fulfilling its commitment to its customers, suppliers, employees, and stockholders.
